I am looking to buy a new washer and dryer set for an apartment
I am looking at a front loading energy star washer and a standard top loading washer. Is it worth the 100 dollars for the energy star washer or is it going to take 10 years to save me that money back in power and water.

Any advice?

I've had a front loader for 2 years and love it. It does use less water and detergent and it gets the clothes clean with less wear and tear on them. Also it holds more clothes than a top loader and so less loads to do.

The front loaders use less water (good for the environment) and spin out the water at higher speeds which decrease drying times. It is a minimal investment for the newer technology and they are phasing out the top loaders. The savings on electricity and water may be worth the extra $100 upfront, you should get your investment back in 2-3yr.

I even have had a front loader for 7 years and it does a great pastime cleansing, i'm going to by no potential bypass back. I certainly have been washing cloth diapers in it for 2 years. you fairly do no longer want very lots cleansing soap, the gadget does the artwork. I in basic terms use some Tablespoons. you may purchase the particular cleansing soap, or in basic terms use much less of the conventional stuff.

i don't really understand the question, but if it has anything to do with getting a front or top loading washer, please get a top loading one. if you get a front loading washer, you will not be as satisfied as a top loading. when you use a front loader your clothes just get whooshed around in the same dirty water, with a top loader the water sits at the bottom- where all the dirt settles- your clothes will be much cleaner.

i have a maytag front loading washer, and i hate it! it does not drain all the water out after each washing, and that water stagnates and you can't get the smell out of the clothes,no matter what you try.i have thrown away more towels.t-shirts and sweaters,so i can never get any savings from my washer.good luck. if you do go front loading, run from anything that says maytag!!!
