The baserunner should locate his third base coach if he can't see the ball right away. The coach will send the runner back.
If the baserunner can see the ball, he can go back on his own. The worst mistake a baserunner can make is to allow the infielders' actions to influence what the runner does. Infielders (in particular, the shortstop and second baseman) will try to trick the baserunner into thinking the ball has been hit on the ground somewhere, which can cause the runner to get doubled off first on a ground ball.
If the runner has slid into second or rounded second, they'll really have to hustle to get back to first!

What takes position if a baserunner is hit with a batted ball? It would not ensue too regularly, notwithstanding it will be very puzzling at the same time as it does. If a base runner is hit with a batted ball in honest territory earlier it has touched or exceeded an infielder, the runner is immediately away observed as out and the batter is credited with helpful.

The runner has to look and see if the ball is caught. If the ball is caught, the runner has to get back to his/her base before the ball does (if thrown) or be doubled up. The other thing that they can do is upon realizing it's a fly ball, is go back to the base and tag up (if the ball is hit deep enough).

depends on number of outs? if 2 outs the runner keeps running,if less than 2 outs the runner should look at fly ball being caught, and make sure he can get back to the base if fly ball is caught.

This is where the coaches come in handy. As the runner approaches 2nd, he should check with the 3rd base coach. He will be directed to either go back to tag up or play 1/2 way until the catch is made or missed.

Hopefully he is looking in at the batter, while stealing. That way he knows where the ball is going, and can judge whether to keep running, or to get his butt back to 1st base

Get to a place that he could get back to the base if caught, but advance if not. Going back to tag in this case I do not see being the better call...unless you can tell immediately the ball is catchable.

If the ball is caught, he has to return to the base he started from. If he's already advanced one base, say he starts off at 1st and he's already on his way to 3rd, he has to re-touch 2nd base before he returns to first base.

the first thing the runner should do is to listen for one of the coaches telling him what to do, then he should be looking for the ball, and proceed with caution whatever he does
