Yes it's very cute because it's a name you don't hear very often. Plus you can shorten it and call the child Mel.

Oh, it is very lovely. I think the meaning of it is too, but I'm not sure. It is, in 3 languages.

I like it. I have a cousin named Melinda, but we call her Mindy. I didn't even know her real name until a couple of years ago.
