It's a play called "Equus" currently playing on London's West End.
It's written by a wonderful playwright named Peter Shaffer, who heard from a friend about a crime committed in England in which a teenager blinded six horses one night. Shaffer's friend died without telling him the whole story, so Shaffer wrote the play to try to understand why someone would do that.
Dan's character, Alan Strang, develops an odd affinity for horses because of the freedom he felt riding them as a child and because his mother told him stories about how when the colonizers came to the new world the natives thought they were centaurs and God-like because they came on horseback.
The play is about a rejection of social norms and about Strang's desire to fulfill his dreams (to become like a centaur by riding the horses nude, therefore removing any barrier between him and the horse). He blinds the horses when him and another girl go to the stable to have sex and he can't stand them idea of the horse, his God-figure, watching him and judging him. I encourage people to read it. It's not about beastiality or sex with horses, he is nude on stage, there's no sex, and it's legal for a 17 year old to be naked on stage in London but it's illegal to post pictures here because the US considers it to be child pornography.

It may seem a little overwhelming, but yes, Daniel Radcliff was the lead character in the PLAY (not movie) "Equus" and it has been listed as one of his best performances as an actor. No pun intended!

I tip my hat off to you, Mary K...very well written!
Come on, folks. Poor Daniel can't be Harry forever. I mean, look at Harrison Ford. True, many people still refer to him as Han Solor or Indiana Jones, but he's been able to move on to plenty of other projects.
There was a poll on AOL asking whether or not Radcliffe's role in this play would ruin the image of Harry Potter. Please. It only proves that Radcliffe is mature and fully capable of playing more mature and emotionally deeper roles.

"Brilliant Radcliffe throws off Harry Potter's cloak," The Daily Telegraph said.
He's trying to do what's best for his career. But still, he's still Harry Potter for the next 3 episodes, he should be careful about his image though. When he finishes though, he can even be a porn star, it wont matter.

i think of the guy has an outstanding to do even though he needs. if he needs to run around in his birthday in good shape...enable him choose for it. in basic terms because of the fact all of us love the completed harry potter component...would not advise he's trapped in that entire little international until the subsequent action picture comes out O_o he has a existence.

Yea, I heard about that. My grandma took my aunt to that when she was younger, not knowing what it was about. From what my mom told me from the story, it's about a guy (Daniel) who is sexually attracted to horses and.. yea.
