Motown records and they were popular in the 60's and 70's.
At first, they were just called "The Supremes" but later changed it to "Diana Ross and the Supremes" which made the other girls kind of mad. It eventually disolved the group, with Diana Ross going out as a solo.

They started out around the 60's becoming number one Billboard Hot 100 hits between 1967. They still were going strong around the to 80's .
By 1967 the Supremes were the most successful act on the Motown label

Motown out of Detroit (Mo as is Motor...cars...Detroit also known as the motor city). Label owned by Berry Gordy Jr. They put out their first hit "Where Did Our Love Go" late 1964. Charted at #1.
