I prefer old Greenday. Like "(Good Riddance) Time of Your Life", "Welcome to paradise", and "Longview".
I like some newer songs though. But after "American Idiot", alot of the old Green Day fans like myself felt angry. Green Day has new fans since then and Billie Joe Armstrong, is the undeserving "Prince of Punk" in my opinion. Who else wishes they would go back to what they sang in the ealry 90's?

Being the kind of guy who doesn't buy cd's, I didn't realize there was a "new" green day.
the only songs I know are the ones off their first big hit album. I've also heard boulevard of broken dreams a few times. That's a pretty good song.
Regardless of the type of music you listen too, it always seems like an artists first album or two usually contains the music most people enjoy most.
Probably because that is what made them famous in the first place.

My favourite record is Kerplunk, it shows that they were even great before they had ANY experience in the industry! But also they are still great, to survive they had to bring out American Idiot, and i think they are going to do great!! American Idiot isnt any disrespect to american citizens, it just says that they didnt want to be the idiot ,who believes whatever the media says.

Those are mid Green Day songs. Check out 1039 Smoothed out Slappy Hours or Kerplunk. In my opinion Iike it all.

at first i liked the older stuff...but then i started listening to the lyrics of american idiot and just loved it...so right now thier newer stuff

now that everyone loves green day, they're not so special. there was a time where one could say, 'o my favorite band is green day', and people would be like'wtf who are they?' right? but now you say it and they're like OMFG I LOOOOOVE green day, and you could be like, ok name two of their cds, and they'll be like, uh......american idiot? but ya their stuff is the s-h-i-t!!!!!

old green day is amazing but new green day seems to be pretty good but i love all their music.
