Okay, so about a week ago I felt a tiny (pea sized) knot in my right breast..A few days after that it started hurting (like an uncomfortable feeling (on the right side where the knot is) I went to the ob gyn for a check up, she felt it as well and said it felt like a small cyst & told me drink less caffiene & my breasts are tender because of my period (my breasts never hurt on my period) reffered me to the Breast Center in my city, just to be safe..

My appointment was today (I had to wait a whole weekend in pain) And they did an ultra sound and took pics and told me that it was just fatty tissue, and she told me to lay off the coffee (which I dont drink..I drink like 1-4 cups of tea a day though) And that was it.

The pain is still here..On and off like an uncomfortable feeling, and sometimes when i lay down, its not severe but its scary. What should I do? Wait it out and go see the doc again if it doesnt go away? Any one have similar experiences?

You may have fibrocystic disease. It sounds worse than what it is and ususally becomes painful before your period. Caffeine and chocolate definitely aggrevate it. Mine went away after my hysterectomy. I also had a cyst which was painful and had a biopsy to make sure everything was ok. My doctor told me that usually, if it hurts, that is a good sign. If you are uncomfortable with the diagnosis, please go for a second opinion. It is better to be safe than sorry and you will sleep much better. Good luck!

First of all, way to go on going straight to the doctor - that's THE most important step.

Secondly, like anything on our bodies, something "foreign" is a very scary thing. Because of that you might be unconsiously feeling it (pushing, testing, worrying it) which is more than likely contributing to the feeling of discomfort.

It's natural to gnaw at something like this, but trust in your doctors (if you have a good feeling about them) and cut the caffeine for a while. Take tylenol (or other otc pain reliever) for any pain. If you don't have a good gut feeling on your doctors, by all means go and seek a second (or third) opinion.

That's what I would do wait for about a month. Do what they said a lay off the all caffeine. But if not gone within a month and still hurting go back and get checked again. Good Luck!

Make sure you drink decaf tea, but I still say get a second opinion just to be safe. God forbid that this would happen, but if you DID end up having breast cancer, it would be better to catch it earlier than later. Go get a second opinion just to be safe. Hope everything goes well.
