Basically I give them a sheet with the lyrics with some words blanked out, and they have to listen and fill in the blanks. What's a good song to play? Of course, the song can't have sex, drugs, cursing, etc.

What about country music? I can only think of one song on the radio that has a curse word in it, and most country songs have great messages and are fun. I would recommend:

"Stand" by Rascal Flatts

"We Shall Be Free" by Garth Brooks

"Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" by Trace Atkins (maybe this one could be extra-credit ;)

"Want To" by Sugarland

"My Better Half" by Keith Urban

I would Suggest JoJo, she is a popular young singer, she doesn't curse or talk about drugs, sex, etc. Try the songs

"A Little too Late"

or "Get Out"

Why pop music? I think you could go with Rock (Led Zepplin or Guns & Roses), or somthing else. But if you must do pop, go with some Jo-Jo (as the guy above me said), or Brittney Spears or Christina Aguilera. Something from the turn of the century, when Pop was at it's peak.

What about "Beautiful Day" by U2? They're considered pretty cool by my grade 7's thanks to the song they recently did with Green Day.
