It is a personal choice; however, I do not believe in it. No matter what the circumstance, there is a future child in there that did nothing to deserve to be terminated. Plus, the psychological effects on the girl/woman after she's had an abortion live with her for the rest of her life. There are other options, despite what anyone says.

I don't believe in abortion but people do what they want I think a person should be told all the effects of abortion and not be on here 5 years from now crying because they can't get pregnant. I'm sorry but if someone wants to go through with it then they themselves and no one else should have to serve the consequences of the outcome.

I honestly know that abortion is murder. I know that some people are convinced to agree with a "choice" but having been there (in a completely unplanned pregnancy- pregnant and alone at 15), I know it's not. This "fetus" or "embryo" is exactly what the rest of us were at one point and it's not fair to kill that child just because of what's going on around it. The child never asked to be conceived but should be protected and have right to LIFE.
I am 100% pro-life, in every and ALL circumstances. You cannot punish an innocent child for the sins of his father and/or mother.

Never in a million years would I ever get an abortion. That said, every one is entitled to make their own decision and choices. If a friend of mine told me she planned on getting an abortion I would try to talk her out of it, but I don't think there should be laws against it. Each person has to live with their decisions and die with their decisions, no one should have their choices made for them.
Yes, adoption is an option, for some. Especially if the child is healthy and white. Statistically speaking, a child with deformities, illnesses, and of mixed or other races has less of a chance of getting adopted. And, yes, there are already millions of children in this world who are starving, abused, neglected, homeless, parentless, living in orphanages and foster care, and living terrible lives. Is adoption really a realistic option for everyone considering abortion?
Should people who know that they absolutely do not want children have sex? The answer is no, not without a hysterectomy. But what about people who don't want children now, so went on birthcontrol like a responsible person, only to have the birthcontrol fail? This happened to me (I now have a six and a half month old daughter- the best thing that ever happened to me and the love of my life).
Should a child be punished for a rape it had nothing to do with? No. But, should the woman who was raped be punished with nine months, or eighteen years, of constant reminders of the terrible thing she went through? Should she be punished for the rest of her life with the permanent changes to her body that pregnancy caused? Shouldn't this also be considered? Isn't a woman's life just as important as an unborn child's?
Who can really make these decisions for another person? No one. Each person needs to make their own choices. The rest of need to guide, but not force, other to do the right thing. Ultimatly we all need to make up our own minds.
P.S.
Smile! Your parents chose life!

You're asking me for MY opinion, so please, don't blast me...
Abortion = murder. Plain and simple. You're killing a life...or, if you prefer, a potential life. You're mutilating an innocent babe who YOU are responsible for. (And even if the child is a result of rape, should the mother cause triple the trauma? The trauma of rape, the trauma of post-abortion depression, and the trauma experienced by the murdered child.) So really, abortion is horrible "legal" murder.
And YES, I can support this in a true debate...if you want to debate me on this, email me. just add @yahoo.com to the end of my screen name and you have my email.

It is MURDER.. Sry but that is just the way I feel.. There are other option out there besides ending a babies life... The child was created for a reason. Even if it is to just give up for adoption so be it.. That beautiful gift can make other adoptive parents to be happy...

this question has been asked at least 6000 times on this site, did you even bother to check the archived questions while typing? If you had I bet you could have found your answer without boring everyone with this very old debate, that doesn;t even belong in this section anyways...try womens studies, law and ethics, religion and spirituality or even politics.

abortion is a woman's choice.
i would much rather have her do such a thing in a safer way such as abortion, because if she doesn't want the baby, then she doesn't want the baby.
i'd rather see abortion then babies in trashcans any day.
i however, do not agree with abusing this choice.
if you're going to go out and have unprotected sex, without weighing the risk of having a child that you do not want, please, never talk to me.
adoption is a fine alternative to abortion, however,
it's a woman's choice.

Totally unnecessary with the morning after pill and adoption. But with extenuating circumstances and very early on, it should be available.
