I'm currently working in a very negative work environment. However, I need the money to pay my bills. At the same time, the negative environment is really getting to me. Should I get out, cut my hours, or tough it out?

You have to tough it out but make sure you distance yourself from the situation when you aren't at work. Focus on managing your time so that you can put your passion into getting out of the situation. Motivation is the key and if you want to look further into it I have some good articles on motivation at my website. http://www.techspeck.com

Look for another job, and take a couple of vacation days to do interviews. So basically tough it out, only as long as necessary.

Depending on the type of negativity you should check into the possibility of the work environment having harassment or hostility issues. The reason I say this, is the worst thing for you to do would be to jump ship to the first offer you get. If you do that you are likely to make a huge mistake.

List all the things that you don't like about your office, and list all the things that you don't like but could survive in another office environment, and what you really want. Make that into a list of questions to ask a potential employer so you don't jump ship to something worse.

If I were you, I would lookin' for new job in "positive" environment while keep your currently job.

When you find one, you can then move on into better job

You wouldn't want to work in that kind of environment for many years because it can affect your lifestyle, health, etc.

You want to work everyday that you enjoy and make enough money at the same time rather than suffering in a negative environment and then get out...AND THEN try to make urself cheer everyday...

Yanno?

Hope you take my advice!

Why don't you try to look for another job while you are still at that company. Then as soon as you find another job that is more suited for you, you can leave this company you are unhappy with and not have to worry about not being able to pay your bills?

Tough it out until you find another job. Find a new job first, then give notice and leave.
