Aside from public speaking, presentations are designed to teach you how to prepare for a project, detail the parts of your learning, and share that learning with others. It teaches you to package information so that others can use it and you learn how to dictate that information to other through proper communication.

You may never be a teacher or salesperson but through successful presentations you will learn other important traits that are less tangible and immeasurable on standardized tests.

It's to help your public speaking skills as well as being able to successfully give an informative or persuasive presentation. Being a good and creative public speaker is a great skill to have. There Whether you are speaking in front of a large audience or just a small group of people. I know its annoying to have to do it now, but try to improve at it. The more you do it, the less nervous you will become. And you will find it very helpful later on in life. Even with just social skills and being able formally express your thoughts.

Presentations bring together many skills. Speaking in public is never easy for anyone so the more practice you get, the easier it will get (for most people).
You will learn much about the topic you are presenting. And you will practice organization skills as you prepare.
Just remember, everyone gets nervous!!!
