I'm stuck between 2 and 3.

I feel that the second movie was more to the actual comic book series than the third movie. The film showed more of the emotions of the character rater than just the let's kill every one attitude that was portrayed in the third movie.

Are you kidding me? The 3rd was horrible. It seemed like they just wanted to hurry up the movie and finish off the series with unrealistic battles and lackluster deaths. Did anybody other than me notice that Cyclops, Mystique, Professor, and Jean all die in a span of about one and half boring days? It lost the emotional weight when they lost director Bryan Singer. The moody atmosphere from the first two was gone. The only things I found remotely interesting about the film was the plot with Angel and at the end with Magneto moving the chess piece

Definately the second. The whole opening seen with Nightcrawler was the best scene out of all three movies. The third didn't have a good plot. It seemed like they were just throwing characters out for no reason, (e.g. Angel). I think basically it was just their version of the Phoenix Saga and they did a poor job of doing it. I think it could have just been better.

X-Men 2 is easly the better of the two. The third film was horrible.

definitely two. The third was not a good bridge between two and three. Left too many questions about what happened in between and what happened to characters like night crawler.

That's a hard one because I love them all!! Part 3 was more intense especially with Jean Gray becoming the Phoenix. That truly is a toss up. But I go with the first one! =)
