Typically, there's no way to "mute" the vocals. However, if you have a Creative Labs sound card installed in your computer, there is a utility with newer sound cards that is a "karaoke" mode. This mode tries to artificially "mute" the vocals, so that you can sing along with the song you are currently playing.

Click on your control panel and see if you have Advance Sound Manager. There is a toggle on the first page labeled karaOK. AvRack also has one.

The only way i know of is to download the karaoke version
