I don't like weird names and I especially hate it when people spell things different than they should be (ie: Michael spelled Mikel)

Always have loved the name Jenny or Jennie either way this name is really pretty

If you like Jenny then that's what you should call your child - so long as it's a girl ;-) But her official name should be Jennifer.
Jennifer is a much better name for those times when you call your child using ALL of their name.
Most people expect a person called Jenny to be really called Jennifer. This may cause her to have to explain her name far too often in the future - "no it's not Jennifer, it's just Jenny" It would be the same as having to always spell your name for everyone because it is spelt in an unusual way.

I think its a very very common name. There always seems to be at least three jenny's around me all the time. However its not a bad name its sounds pretty good i guess.

Jenny definitely isn't one of my favorites. It is an okay nickname. Very dated and extremely common.
If you like traditional names maybe you would like:
Abigail (Abby)
Samantha (Sammy or Sam)
Cassandra (Cassie)
Holly
Hannah
Allison (Alli or Ally)
Danielle (Dani)
Amy
Anna
Ashley
Sarah
Emma
Morgan
If you did want to go with something very close I prefer Jenna over Jenny. Other names similiar to Jenny are Janna, Jamie, Jill, Jessica (Jesse), and Julie.

If you want sonething basic it would be a perfect name for a little girl. Sure it's both a common and popular name but who cares you'll have that with almost any name you choose even some of the not so common names are becoming popular.

Your daughter will inevitably come up with a nick name. My daughter was born Jennifer, became Jenny, and is now a professional young woman known as Jen.

I love the name Jennifer, since thats my name that is good. But I hate Jenny. I will not let anyone call me that. It is a name that has never gone out of style.

It makes me think of Forrest Gump. That's not a bad thing, Jenny is one of the main characters in that movie, and that's a classic!

Jenny is cute. I'd either spell it Jennie or name her Jennifer. Or Jenica. I think that's adorable!

Jenny is always the little girl in the corner with the glasses, reading the book and talking to no one .

Jennifer is a little better.
