i'm not sure. in a situation where somebody was about to shoot my mother then my gut instinct would be to protect her by any means possible. so i would probably jump in front of her impulsively. but if i had a long time to consider it i'm not sure what i'd do. if i had children im sure this would be a lot easier to answer. also, if i had children perhaps and i was given the choice to die to save someone other than them, a partner or parent, i probably wouldn't for my children aswell. id need to stick around for them. but as i am, young free and single, its not an easy one to answer.

short answer: no idea whatsoever.

I think most parents would give up they're life for they're children without even thinking about it. If I truly love someone I want nothing more than to see them happy, even if that costs me my own life if the situation called for it. Of course I would want to jump in front of a bullet for my mother or father but that would not make them happy. They would want to protect me and since they are my parents I would be able to accept that wish. How ever, if it were someone else like a sister or niece or child I would take the bullet. The reason is because the love and light I see in them is worth a human life. If we were all to see each other the way god looks at us, the only problem would be that nothing would get done because we would all end up worshiping each other. So yes I would happily sacrifice my life for someone I loved.

Death is just another adventure, and if it is worth it, why not explore? Besides, there are punishments worse than death. And, after all, if we were immortal, promising our life to someone would be pointless; but being mortal, giving away our little time upon this ancient earth for such a person would mean a lot.

the only person i would give up my life for is my son, and feel pretty bad by saying this cos i love my wife very much as well, but my son even though he only 5 months old has a fresh start in life and would be brought up in life properly. i will bring him up the best i can and teach him right from wrong.

If it's one of those, make a decision in a blink of an eye, I'd give my life for any of my friends, husband, a child (even if I didn't know them), some of my family and probably my cat.
If it was something like, taking someone's place who's about to get executed then I'd only do it for my husband, some of my friends, still any child, and some of my family. Why..because I think their lives are more important than mine, at least to me.

I honestly don't know and probably won't know until I might be faced with the decision. In combat situations you hear about a guy throwing himself on a hand grenade to save his friends. I don't know if anyone can honestly say what they would do in advance.

I surpose its the same as when some-one is dieing they always worry about the people they are leaving behind,so i would have to say my answer is,the love you have for that person is so strong that to give up your life, would be nothing compared with saving their life. That as the song goes, nothing compares to you.

Mais oui! I would do it for the person I love above all others. That person has suffered so much and really deserves peace and tranquillity. If I could spare him more pain by giving my life for his then I would do it.

Yes, my daughter is young, full of life and means the world to me. She has the whole world ahead of her, with so much to see.
There are others i would do the same for but i wont go into that.
