I think many people get the heebie jeebies at least every now and then, in the dark.

I'm not typically scared of the dark but once in a while when you live in the woods - you get a creepy feeling that tries to overwhelm you. What I do when that happens is to remind myself that nothing is there in the dark that isn't there in the daylight. The hairs on the neck are still raised, but I push myself onward.

If I didn't push myself - I'd be a scaredy cat always. You'll have to do the same thing. FORCE yourself to ignore the darkness. The only time you should get cautious is if something in the house is out of place, something real and tangible that says someone may be in the house.

LASTLY - if you are spooked all the time, while scary movies are fun - you may want to back off the spooky shows. They only reinforce fears of the dark for people who are already having issues with it.

Face your fears of the dark or you'll never get over it. It will be a conscious effort for a while, but before you know it, you'll be doing stuff and then suddenly realize, you haven't been concerned about the dark in quite a while.

SAFETY: Keep a flashlight with you when testing yourself in absolute dark (recommended). Stand still in the absolute dark with flashlight in hand but turn it off and stand there with your eyes closed, focus on nothing but your breathing. Do this for as long as you can stand it and build up your time in the dark. When you can stand in the dark for 20 to 30 minutes with your eyes open, you have your problem beaten.

Let's deal with 1 problem at a time o.k. You need a night-light in
your room and in the hall way and if they have plastic covers's on them because it's not bright enough for, take them off. And what's wrong with the T.V. etc. on while you play r guitar, long as
you can hear yourself play. Turn the night-light on when it gets dark, there's your security! T.V. playing so what, r not paying the
hydro I see. Someday Sweetie you're going to grow out of this and see no reason why it should be rushed and you traumatized
by seeing a physic, which would just add more to your controlling
situation more than it is. Sometimes you just can't change a Leopard's Spots too soon. Wish u had of told me r age?
Soon this will be behind you, keep saying that 4 me o.k?

Look everywhere in the dark and when you look behind something go "Boogey googey goo!!!!." Makes you feel tough.

Close your door, sometimes that helps, or have a little desk lamp on in the other room.
