Its not. They are capitalizing on the only human remains found from that era.

There were a number of small-scale faith healers and shamans called 'Christ' 'Christos' 'Krishna' etc. These words all come from the Greek language, and the saviors called this lived at various times over a period of 500 to a thousand years.
There was no such person, however, in Judea at the time of the Jesus stories. Since the Jesus Christ person is an accretion of many myths into one, there isn't any body, ossuary, tomb or anything else which will prove to be real.
Sorry.

For one thing there is no body, no bones in the ossuary. Not in any of them, apparently.
For another, the names were all common in that area at that time. It's like finding John, James, Donnie, and Jane in a cemetery and thinking you've found Wayne, Dean, Wahlberg and Fonda.
For another (my last this time) they were found uncomfortably far (for the time) from the known primary residences of Jesus and the Magdalen.
As for the Historical Jesus, the historian Josephus (a Romanized Jew) wrote of Him based on first-hand accounts. A bit like interviewing an old man, who as a teenager, heard the Gettysburg address, in order to find out what Lincoln sounded like.

I haven't seen the documentary by James Cameron so I can't make a decision yet but I cannot see how they can determine something belonged to Jesus 200o years ago and to the best of my knowledge no one has a sample of Jesus' DNA so what will they match the DNA to?????
I believe Jesus corporeal body rose to heaven with his soul.

How could his bones be on earth when he ascended to heaven? There was no trace of him in his tomb when Mary Magdalene came on the 3rd day. Whose bones are they?? Someone doesn't have the story right.

SURE IT CAN BE TRUE ! JUST AS EASILY AS SOMETHING WE THINK WE KNOW NOW "CAN BE UNTRUE". WE AS PEOPLE SHOULD BE FLEXIBLE IN OUR PROOFS AND NEW FINDINGS. WE SHOULDNT GET BOGGED DOWN IN OUR THINKING AND NOT BE OPEN TO CHANGE AND DISCOVERY. WE SHOULD SEEK EXACT STUDY AND PROOF. THIS THOUGHT ABOUT TAKING EVERYTHING IN FAITH WITHOUT EVIDENCE IS FOR THE FOOLISH !
