Real punk rock started years ago with bands like The Ramones, The Clash, Casualties, Dead Kennedy's, Social Distortion, The Descendants, Bad Religion, Misfits, Sex Pistols, Operation ivy (later became Rancid) and so many more. There are so many that I love I could go on forever. The lyrics actually have meaning. There was a time when punk rock was dangerous, now it's just a fashion trend.
The rest of this new music is another genre. If you really are into punk check out these bands and tell me what you think. No offense to anyone and the kind of music they like, just a brief history lesson.

You should look into something like The Cure (a band from the 80s.) They were considered punk rock back then. They've got really great songs such as Just like Heaven, Lovesong, and Friday I'm in love, just to name a few.
