i don't think he's done much to the actual play of the game, what i dislike about him is that he takes the players' ability to have a personality out of the equation and does nothing for the fans of the game...he tries too hard to clean up the image of the league while the league does have problems with the style of basketball being played(the style of the game is the reason i rarely watch anymore) and he does nothing about it...he spends more time in my opinion figuring out how much to fine someone for something petty like dress code violations than focusing on how to make the game more enjoyable for the fan base, the people bringing all this money into the league

Stern makes questionable moves, no doubt about that. However, if you think about it, he's a great commissioner. Of the four major north american sport leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL), I think the NBA has the best commissioner. He actually enjoys what he's doing. Look at him on draft day, he's smiling everytime he gets up to the podium. And the dress code hasn't taken much away from the players, it makes them look more professional

Look, if you are some hood rat piece of ghetto trash, you may not like him. In reality, the NBA just needs you to buy sneakers and watch the games on TV, that's it. The NBA must appeal to corporate America, and thugged-up gansta crap aint sellin to CEOs.

The NBA continues to be a league of thugs, Stern is trying to put some lipstick on that pig.

David Stern is the most respected sports commissioner in the World, not only in the US. That is why his tenure is so long..... The NBA players association are the ones making the mistake.

I think he's a complete idiot. He's completely changed the game and made it a three team game. Two basketball teams and the officials. Why do you think we get our butts whipped by the world teams every year? Our "baby" stars can't handle any contact anymore. Have you seen us in international play? We keep looking around for the foul calls.

He makes his mistakes, but makes good moves too. The dress code has already worked wonders for the NBA; it considerably cleaned up the NBA's reputation.
