You probably have frostbite of the foot. You need to be seen by a doctor to make sure the tissue is not overly damaged. When this happens it is wise to only warm up the foot slowly....not with hot water. If this has just happened go to the emergency room...you don't want a damaged foot for the rest of your life!

You didn't mention how long ago you did this....I hope it is recent but it doesn't sound that way, it could very serious.....you have to go to the emergency room.....if it's frostbite (bad frostbite) your foot will look sunburn but it's actually frozen tissue. You'll feel pain initially, then swelling, white skin, numbness, the loss of function and no pain. The color changes from white to red then purple "PURPLE" are you reading this. You may get blisters, slurred speech and memory loss

So, as you can see this is no laughing matter...so, get yourself to the hospital. This is not meant to scare you, this is what I read in a medical dictionary.

What I can't understand is why you haven't done anything yet. Surely you know a purple foot is not normal under any circumstances..

could be frostbite. Put your foot in a bucket of warm, NOT HOT, water. Do this for a good chunk of time and afterwards wrap it in a nice soft cloth AND DO NOT RUB YOUR FOOT!

Go to the Emergency room, now! Call an ambulance and in the meantime, DON'T touch it, massage it or in any way handle or walk on it. You may have frostbite.

have you seen mr deeds? kinda the same. just not that severe in most cases of frostbite. that 1st guy should be listened to! go to an ER. do not quickly heat the foot. it will cause nerve damage.

first of all, that wasnt very smart. but you could have gotten frost bite. i would look it up and check to see if you have the sideaffects. i would definetly put it in some hot water. i really dont know what to say, have it checked out by your doctor. dont wait too long or else you will have to have it removed.
