It all depends on the baby and the food that they eat. My daughter didn't sleep thru out the night until she was 6 weeks. But I was breast feeding until then, and then we switched her to formula. Basically your daughter will sleep when she needs to, you don't have any control over it. Good luck! I remember those days, and don't miss them.

Unfortunately, they'll get to that milestone in their own time. Since she's still nursing every four hours, it might be harder to get that all night of sleep that you're craving, but I do have hope for you.
Five weeks is a wee bit young yet to expect a nursing baby to sleep all night. But, hang in there and in a few weeks she'll probably be sleeping six hours at a time. Then, before you know it, she'll be a toddler and sleeping ten hours a night.
If you can, try to squeeze in some extra sleep time with her when she naps.
But don't change her diet without first talking to her pediatrician. Giving babies cereal too early can actually be harmful to them, so don't do so without your doctor's okay.
Some babies start sleeping through the night early, some later, but most are doing six hours or so at a time by six months at the latest. Of course, there's always a random baby or two who don't sleep through the night until later (I had one of those) but they all start sleeping through in good time.

I think 5 weeks is a little early for an overnight expectation. My children (twins) slept through the night at 4 months when I introduced a little cereal in the bottle. It saved my sanity! Good Luck!

A one month old sleeping 4 hours at a time at night is perfect. This month you should aim for 5-6 hours.
My 3 month old surprised me by sleeping through the night at 2 and 1/2 months. I feed her right before bedtime (milk with NO cereal) and established a fixed routine, like bath or massage. She sleeps with music and humidifier to drown out outside noise.
You are definitely doing something right. Keep it up!

It's way too early. Accept the fact that you are still going to be getting up in the night. In my experience babies start to reliably sleep through the night when they start solids.
