Depending on what is under the hood, you could have a problem with your automatic choke. Even something as simple as having your fuel injector cleaned & serviced may do the trick. Do any cars have carborators anymore? Another possible cause. Once you get it going to your satisfaction, there are great fuel additives you can by almost anywhere that will help keep things clean and running properly ... you know like STP etc. Kind of an array of choices, but hopefully one may be a good lead!

I would get the codes pulled from the ECM.....

My guess would be that your Idle Air Control valve is not working to keep the truck idle at startup. Another cause could be a clogged fuel filter and or a weak fuel pump.

The most common problem I have found is with the idle motor not working at times. Have it checked and replaced if needed. It should cost around $120 with labor.

If it only happens when it is wet out it is probably the plugs, wires cap and rotor.
