I prefer Sean Connery's movies to the later Bonds, although I saw the new Casino Royale recently and thought it was terrific.

Never seen a Shawn Connery film... much less as 007.
I guess you meant Sean Connery... he IS the best, although I haven't seen the newest Bond-Film

my personal opinion is that plot-wise, the connery bond films were the best, hands down. but i don't think sean connery was the right man for the part. he had that weird *** obviously non-british accent, and he just didn't have the charisma or the looks to be a convincing bond. i'd have to say the honor of being the best bond, character wise, is a toss-up between roger moore and pierce brosnan. moore had the charisma, but brosnan just looks like james bond should look. it's a hard one to call.

I can say that the last few 007's were not done up to standards...
007 is supposed to be a slick, thin, smart, well-dressed (and well-equipt) spy...
Not a big meat-head muscular dummy...
And the bond girls are getting worse too... Halle Berry looks good in a bikini but she is not "dangerous" enough to be a leading lady in a bond film... she has no poker face...

My favourite is Roger Moore but sean connery was an excellent bond particulary in goldfinger and you only live twice.

I actually prefer Pierce Brosnan, even though I think Sean Connery is a very good actor.

Not I, I always preffered Roger Moore over the others but I think that new guy who played in Layer Cake is gonna beat em all.
