There is a similar story in Avon, Indiana--at the Haunted Bridge (yes, it's known that way--the road under it is even referred to as Haunted Bridge Road). It's a railroad bridge, and the story is that a mother was taking her sick baby to the doctor. A creek runs under it also, so she was walking across the bridge. All of a sudden, a train came and knocked her and her baby off the bridge into the creek below. The baby was found, but she never was. The bridge has arches built into it, and the wind howls as it passes through the arches. Locals say the howling is the mother crying for her baby.
