If you have a way to get in touch, I'd send a card/note letting them know HOW they influenced your life and thank them for being a part of your life. Then acknowledge at the end of the note that you'd like to spend time together again and ask if they are open to that. Every year I make a list of people who influence me at some point and I send out about 25-30 cards just thanking them for touching my life. It's a great way to open a door that may have been closed.

Call the old friends, tell em you miss em and "lets get together"...if not comfortable with that, make new ones! It is really hard to make friends when all you do is work, but you have to somehow make time or do something or else alot of lonliness creeps in.

Try to get back in touch with your old friends. Make new friends, too, though. Not all of your old friends may want to be friends, or may not be able to find them.

I would try to find the old friends that you lost and if you can not find them than I would try to make new friends.

I'm pretty happy when someone I haven't spoken to in months sends me an e-mail out of the blue--if you can dredge up their e-mails thats a good way to start. You might also check facebook.

Try to ask them to forgive you, if that is not possible for them, I am sorry, there is nothing else you can do. Please forgive me.
