I will be moving into a new apartment on April 1. The current tenants will still be living there up until I move in. Is it rude to start having my mail forwarded to my new apartment before I move in?

To put it in a nutshell, if you were the current tenant, would think it was obnoxious if you started receiving mail for the next tenant 1 or 2 weeks before you move out?

Talk to them first so that they don't throw it away. I wouldn't mind keeping your mail for you if you asked me to.

No, it's not rude, most people are OK with that and just save your mail off to one side. It's kinda of expected when you move that's going to happen.

Only rude if you do it without clearing it with them. Just ask if it's okay. If they're the types that get all agro about it then you wouldn't want your mail with them anyway.

No, it is not rude at all. I had moved all my stuff into my new room before I officially moved in. It is just understanding between you and your landlord !!!

I would feel that it would be somewhat of a hassle but other than that I wouldn't think it were rude, it's more convenient for you.

Nah I would just put it on the side for you. Hope they do the same and don't throw it out.

If you let them know ahead of time, and see if they are okay with it, then fine...To assume it's okay, is rude.....
