Well, I think the reason why so many girls like them is because there are a bunch of teenie boppers out there that like MCR because "ZoMGZz GerALd WEII IS lyKe SOOooO HoTt!!!!!111!1one1!!!!1"
Yeah, so anyway I love the band and I have liked them for about 2 years. Not only because Gerard was hot like most fans now days. It disgusts me.
Point here is they have good music. Some people might not think so because they think the band is mainstream (wich it is >.>) and some just may not be into that kind of music. I, however, am into that music. So, thats the appeal. I guess? o.o

The appeal is that they pull from experiences to create deep and meaningful music. Their fans recognize and connect with these experiences as they might've been in the same situation. MCR also helps the'r fans be more comfortable with who they are. In the words of Gerard Way "It's okay to be messed up."

Well this is coming from my opinion, and it's why I like them, not everyone else. I like the sound of their music...it's kind of poppy rock I guess, not anything really light or heavy. And their lyrics have meaning to it, not just shallow words used so they can make money. The members of the band are all really nice people, and they're really nice to all of their fans, unlike some bands today.
If you don't like them, well that's just your personal opinion, but some people do like their music. Thanks for not being a moron and asking something like, "Why is My Chemical Romance so gAy??/?"

they have really good music that causes people to think and it offers a new perspective on life in general

Not heard much of them but I'm likely to be hearing more thanks to my kids - I do like Black Parade though
