What I am saying is can someone say they're gay or bisexual but actually be straight?
This is coming from my best friend Chris, his girlfriend broke up with him and I would hate to use the word love but coming from his own words he said he actually "loved her."
Well they broke up Monday and he all of a sudden went bisexual and now today he says he is gay but I personally think this whole thing about him being gay is just about his girlfriend breaking up with him, personally in my opinion.
I am bi myself but, I just think him being gay is about him whole break up.

I agree with you. I think many people experiment with their sexuality. Just because you have a sexual encounter with someone of the same sex doesn't make you gay. I'd agree that your friend is experimenting.

Who knows, in my opinion if you are gay it rises to the service at some stage and maybe your right it could be an after affect of the break-up but to think of it from another angle. The break-up could of been the event for your friend to come out and break th ties which have been holding him back. Either way he needs your support right now so concentrate on being a good friend for now.

One thing I don't understand from some people is why can't they stay single after a break up ?

What is the problem ?

Why involved someone who is happy being gay or bi , and dealing with a person who is an emotional wreck from a straight relationship ?

i wouldn't call it a stage, but yes. some people are confused about their sexuality, especially if rheir best friends are gay. I have a friend who thought that she was a lesbian but after dating a girl she found out the she wasn't. For some people it's just a phase and for others it's not. It's harder for girls to tell because girls are allowed to hold other girls hands, share makeup, hug, kiss on the cheek, and it's considered normal. There are a lot of kids, especially the girls at my school who know they aren't gay but they pretend to be because they think it's cool. it's really annoying. If i see someone who does this, i wont even talk to them. People just need to be themselves, regardless if they are gay or straight.

I think you are right in assuming that it is "ALL ABOUT THE BREAKUP." Only time will tell though. You don't go from bi to gay in a day or two. If he is a teenager he may not know totally what his sexuality is all about. There again time will determine that in most cases. It is a known fact that teenage boys (especially) EXPERIMENT in that area. They then decide EVENTUALLY what they prefer. Go along with him he is probably just confused about the breakup. Good Luck to him and you. Thanks for being CONCERNED about your friend. He needs your support.

Sexuality is a very complex thing; its not a clear cut thing as everyone would like to believe. Being a male homosexual means that you sexually and physically like other men. When you are going through puberty it adds another level of complexity. It can be a phase if your friend is a teen but, even then most people who are gay know that they are.

Most people go thru a stage of uncertanity. And the bad experience with the gf may have turned him against women for awhile (or forever). Give him time and he will eventually find what is right for him. Just be patient and supportive.

I guess a definitive answer is hard to come up with in this situation.. All I wanted to tell you is that a friend of mine came out as a lesbian, was in a long term relationship with a girl, got engaged and later broke up with her.. Now she is completely straight, has totally sworn off females. Stage? not sure, but she did not last as a lesbian.. I've had other friends go through similar things..

People can go through a phase, i know some people who did but in this case it does just sound like it was because of the break up

The World is so nasty With all this Gay and Bisexual Stuff. I don't see how men like men. But I think your friend has a serouis problem because he just might have turned crazy since he was dumped by somebody he loved sooooo much.
