Linear Trend line is y=3.95 x + 0.176, the plot is titled "work vs. position. Write the physics translation equation for this trend?

so y = 3.95 [Joule] x + 0.176 [meters] ???

oh and say you measured work to be 1.99 [joule]. According to the linear trend, what is the poistion value??

how do you do that?

please help thanks!!!

y is work, so y is in joules
x is position, so x is in meters
the slope would be 3.95 joules/meter
the intercept would be 0.176 joules

to find the position at 1.99 joule, just substitute 1.99 for y:

1.99 = 3.95x + 0.176
x = (1.99 - 0.176)/3.95

AP Physics is tough. If your math grades are at least a B then I would consider taking AP Physics. It will be tough for you unless you are really strong in math.
