I wouldn't say we're idiots we just don't value education over sports, the military, and other things that most countires take a backseat to.
our schools are too expensive, they accept more rich than qualified students, and some students lose interest in schools because of how the education system is. I know it has always bothered me when I had to beg for an extension to a paper but for some reason the atlete in my class who did practicly nothing was passing with a C

I don't have a degree but I have more common sense than probably say 27%. Saying people are idiots that don't have a degree is a rather pompus and John Kerry sounding remark. Just another typical liberal comment I guess trying to put down the simple man as inferior which isn't true. I have seen plenty of college educated people that really had a hard time getting along with others and this tells me the reason why. Think before engaging your mouth next time.

What does a "degree" mean? It's one more thing to hang on your wall. With perhaps the exception of becoming a doctor or lawyer, someone can earn a great living by learning a trade . . .carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, photography, glass glazing, almost anything really. Learn a little about the trade, work for somebody for a while to hone your craft, branch out on your own with your own business, and you could make $60k-$100k+ easy.
Trades aren't going anywhere. There will always be a need for these things. Pipes will leak, houses will need to be built, lights will need to be installed, glass will need to go into buildings, families will want pictures of themselves taken, etc. What someone does says nothing about their intelligence.
Learning a trade can be a very smart move.

America has been no 1 in education for many years, we had the brightest students and the smartest professors, until the schools were integrated, then the blacks started disrupting the classes so much that no one learned any thing , ask (any school teacher,) and when these kids in this age group got to college age the colleges had to lower their entrance scores in order to have any students, many of our best professors quit and went to other country's , many said they could not teach some one to be a engineer ,scientist, or ? when they couldn't even read or write, that is why we have came in 5th place this year in Math, science, engineering, technology, when we were in first place for so many years, many other fields we came in 7th place behind our so called 3rd world country's like China, South Korea,Japan, and India, all of these country's are considered prejudiced against blacks, and others, and they don't have a affiramative action program, the only ones who got a decent education in our country was the ones who could afford to go to private schools, yet our gov, has pumped into our public schools 4 times as much money as they did before integration started, so what have we gained by affirmative action, except to make our kids dumber and even a lot of blacks won't go to a black Dr, because they feel he probable got into medical school on a minority pass, do you blame them?? would you?our politicians are about as stupid as any third world country ever had including Ida amin, don't tell me they could not know what would happen with Integration, the way they imposed it, the north thought they were punishing the southern states, it backfired as it screwed them up as much as it did the south, and even tho the hand writing is on the wall they continue this stupid course,

Nation of Idiots? No Daniel. It takes all kinds to make the world
go 'round. Somebody has to flip the burgers, drive school buses, deliver mail, perform major brain surgery, etc. Not everyone is cut out for jobs where degrees are needed and like wise not every person that holds a degree is cut out to do every kind of job.

Since when does a college degree mean that you are intelligent? I have taken over jobs from college graduates that completely screwed the whole thing up in less then 3 months and I had to reorganize the whole thing. I studied music and voice, never graduated because I became pregnant at 20, having my son at 21. So again I ask, since when does a college degree equal intelligence?

Hi,
Well.. look into it further and you'll note that of that 27% 80% vote Republican!!
Thankfully and despite the efforts made by the right wing ultra rich to dominate education for themselves.. the lefties place little value anyway on modern education as it has been proven to be unfair, often immoral and skewed heavily to favor the lies the right want you to believe anyway!!
So if anything.. the 27% with degrees ARE THE IDIOTS!!
They actually pay for the low rate education many of them evidently receive.. a scan of the political candidacy of the right wing will prove that.. starting with your very own C grade dropout from all the best and costliest university's.. Mr Warhammer Bush himself.. if he can become president.. who needs an education anyway??
Furthermore.. if USA gets too educated you might find it hard to recruit soldiers.. coz I don't think many of them have degrees either..

So, only a degree marks intellect, does it? Some of the most intelligent people I have known have had no college degree, and yet knew more about life, and had read more books than many PhD's. A degree is just a paper saying you completed a course of study. It doesn't mark your level of intelligence.

Although I have two degrees - one in psychology and the other in business administration. A lot or more then half of colleagues and constituents I work with are all text and "no common sense". This is probably 1/2 of the 73% you mention...LOL.so you cannot specifically name one group of idiots. The paper means zilch, nada, nothing, without good common sense with it. we all can agree to that at least in Y!A's or maybe not...sorry its maybe not..LOL!

It looks like only 3/4 of us are idiots. Just kidding of course. Education isn't necessarily an indication of intelligence. But it would definitely be nice to see a higher percentage of educated Americans.
My parents are far more intelligent than I am yet neither of them have degrees like I do.
