She's asking me if i think it will work again....what kind of pattern is this? do you think this is a shaky relationship.... to be on again off again...how long do you think it will last this time?

I would tell her that its her life, her decision. But dont expect you to have to listen to her cry or complain about him. She is on her own as of now. You can only listen so much. And if she is just going to keep going back to him, why should you bother giving advice or answering questions.

She is your friend and she needs for you to be honest with her. This relationship is consistent with the pattern of unstable commitment. Explain to her that she has found a relationship that she is comfortable with and the problem is that it will not last. She may have deep feelings for the guy but there are deeper issues attached to this relationship. She needs to free herself from it if she ever wants to have a serious, healthy, and loving relationship.

as long as she stays with him then they will keep going in circles in this relationship, unless she wakes up and realizes that she deserves better than to keep going through all the drama, her asking you for your advice is a little piece of her wanting to step outside of herself and get another valid opinion on whats going on other than her own, you can let her know what you think and just let her work out her own problems......

it's a typical pattern of relationships that are based on the wrong reasons like loneliness or insecurity. it will never work.
