oh god no...if it EVER becomes that, you walk out that instant. in a professional studio, institution or private place, modeling should NEVER be at ALL sexual, unless you and the artist have already discussed the context of the work. Just search life modeling and go to a few sites, get some more info on your rights and what they will expect of you. and NO nothing clinical at all. the artist usually is there to study the lines, shapes, shadows, textures and so forth that your body creates. you personality may come out, it all depends on what the context of the session is. dont be afraid to ask. find out what youll be expected to do and why. basically, its being comfortable and doing the poses asked of you and experiementing with your own. practice first, and like i said do a little research before going in

I have never modeled but have drawn several nudes. For me the model is really nothing more than a vase. (an object) I've never seen anything sexual occur. Models have always been treated with the utmost respect. I would say the hardest part would be staying so still for about 20 min. at a time. I would say if you have the chance go for it.

i have never personally modelled nude, but i work with someone who does here in chicago. i was interested, but not in a sex kinda way, as i do not find her the least bit attractive. her description never included anything other than it being just a job. if it is in a classroom, in an accredited school, it is highly unlikely that anything unethical would happen. no teacher wants to risk their job and/or tenure. i think the students are instructed not to talk to the model.
on the flipside, i had a friend who roped a number of ladies (some of whom i knew...) into modelling nude, privately, for his portfolio. he never hit on them as far as i know, but that is a red flag type of situation, the classic artist pickup technique. not always the case, but beware.
so, just use your brain, and pay close attention to the place before you shed even one sock. you should be fine. if you are nervous or self-conscious about your body, this may even be a good chance to iron that out. make it work for you.

There is nothing sexual about modeling in the nude for an art class.

I doubt that it would be a sexual thing. You can ask about it when you apply, tell them that you're a little nervous or that you've never done nude modeling before, and just ask them to tell you a little bit about it.

Personally I think its perverted but if you're doing it as a model I don't think its sexual. And if anyone messes with you, you should sue for sexual harassment. Hey, you said you needed money.
