oki dont really thing it matters there is not a big difference like the new pigments from l'oreal i bought costed like 10 bucks i used it look pretty but i thought it gave almost the same effect as an eyeyshadow the only difference was eyeshadow cost way less like 5 bucks but pigments can be applied thickly which i dont think you need to and pigments have a little bit more sparkle but i think if u buy the same color in pigment and in eyeshadow i dont think u will see a difference well atleast i did not see any difference so just buy eyeshdow and some pigments can be harder to aplly since they are broken small pigments lol but i think eyeyshdow is the smae thing but pigments are like broken eyeshadows into a gazillionpeices i think they re the same thing so just buy eyeyshdow, pigmenets just sound fancy but they r not

It depends on what your preference is. Pigments are very versatile, they can be used wet or not, as eyeshadow, highlighters, blusher and can also be used in lipstick.I'm assuming u r talking about MAC cuz they do have the best pigments and as the name applies they have great pigmentation and a bottle would last u a long way,u can also buy them in samples in order to save money and aquire a collection.
Eyeshadow is great if u want to complile a good collection and MAC also have the best pigmented eyeshadow on the highend,NYX eyeshadow is comparable to MAC due to their incredible texture and pigmentation, too.

Pigments are just that without fillers to make it stick to itself & you. Pigments don't wear as well because of this. Bare Minerals says these fillers are bad for you, but in reality it is what helps it stay on better. Sue Devitt uses ingredients like vitamin E and other botanicals to treat your skin as you wear it.
Pigment is what makes the color in the eyeshadow. Low end cosmetics like Maybelline, L'oreal, & other less expensive brands only have 10% of pigment compared to higher end cosmetics like MAC, Lancome, & more expensive brands usually have at least 70% pigment.
Because of the difference in pigment, higher end cosmetics will last you longer, stay on better, & you use less to get the color effect you desire. They are worth the money to spend a bit more for your cosmetics.
Not sure if this is what you meant by your query.

It really depends on the look you're going for. They both go on very differently. Eyeshadows are jet milled, which produces super-fine, densely packed pigments which, when applied to the skin, appear velvety, rich and luxurious. Powder eyeshadows deposit richer, more opaque colour than creams but they must be applied artfully, which isn't possible without practice and knowhow. Cream eyeshadows, which melt more readily into the skin, leave a greater margin for error.

Pigments. The name itself explains it. Pigments have more color than shadows and look a lot better! I really like Mac pigments!
