Something is keeping you from falling into REM sleep. That's the sleep when you dream, and if you don't get enough, you aren't rested the next day.
Many things can cause this. Too much coffee too late. Heavy Snoring, Sleep Apnea (a momentary stop to breathing). Look for a Sleep Disorders Clinic if it keeps up. Sleep Apnea can be dangerous. If you ever wake up out of breath, you have a dangerous case of it.

Maybe your body is just wired differently. Are you a "night owl?" I am and that's just the way I'm wired. No matter how much sleep I get, if I have to get up early in the morning, I feel like I haven't slept at all. But, if I were to get the same amount of sleep and get up at say 6 pm, I'm good.

There could be a number of reasons for this. If you would like me to email you an on-line presentation of how you can optimally look after your body let me know at leanne27@aapt.net.au
I didn't have any health "issues" and used to feel tired in the late afternoon/early evening. I just thought I had a busy day. But now I have much more energy.

you're probably being woken up by an alarm clock or something
th reason why you feel bad is because your being woken up in the middle of a sleeping period
during normal sleep you have 30 minuet period which you go from deep sleep (which is hard to wake up from) and light sleep (which you wake up feeling great)
you might start the day bad, but dont worry once you've been up for a bit you'll feel good (a shower helps me wake up in the morning)
if your a teenager your probably growing which makes you feel sore when you wake up, there's nothing you can do but wait till it all goes away

If your not depressed than it is just a lack of motivation to get going. Maybe you should think of something to look forward to every morning to pop you out of bed and get you revved up for the day.

Maybe it is your job. Maybe you are dragging your feet to work. Not everyone loves their job, so if you are starting to dread going in, then look for another one.
