I'm GUESSING Florida. I remember reading Florida has the most twisters in the country if you go by per square mile. A lot of the tornadoes are comes out of the hurricanes. Florida also has MANY MANY thunderstorms, practiclly all year unlike Kansas. I'd guess also that Kansas has stronger twisters. Florida's twisters are gennerally week.

Florida can get tornadoes year-round. Kansas usually only gets tornadoes in the spring and early summer months. However, Kansas and Florida have about the same likelihood of tornadoes.

Florida, has the highest risk of Hurricanes AND lightning, though. In other words, Florida is home to some extreme weather.

Wow, tough question. I'd like to see the stats on this one, but I'm to lazy to look it up. I think Florida is most likely the correct answer as far as NUMBER goes. They definitely get more thunderstorms down there because they are warmer year round and get a lot of sea breeze formed thunderstorms. And a lot of waterspouts. Once a spout goes on land it becomes a tornado. So I think that is going to drive their numbers way up. But for shear severity without a doubt it would be Kansas. All the states through Tornado Alley are prone to very severe tornados coming off the dryline. You don't hear of F5s ripping through Tampa like you do Oklahoma City.
