This scares the hell out of me.

I'm glad my baby's lips haven't ever touched a bottle. Just one more reason to breastfeed!

It scares me because there are so many little babies being exposed to these bottles. Also, I'm not putting anyone down here, I'm just stating how I feel. And yes, I am worried about the future plastics I use when preparing food. I thought that this article would also help those who didn't know.

Yes, nasty. You can still buy glass baby bottles, though they are tough to find. They most contamination occurs when liquids are left in the bottle for long periods, such as overnight. If you fill the bottle and give it to the baby immediately, there's very little ''leeching'' of the chemical so there's little to worry about. I'm with you though, ''If it's not something you have to do, why do it?''

Honey calm down When my daughters were babies everything that hit the news scared the s*** out of me there was a time when they came out saying hot dogs caused children to have Leukemia but it never was proven but I went in a state of hysteria these bottles have been around forever my daughter who is 23 would only take a Playtex nurser and she is fine and is pregnant with her 1st daughter (which she is breastfeeding) but the baby will still have to take in a bottle when she goes back to work nothing in this life is safe

This seems like more propaganda spread by militant breatsfeeders. While breastfeeding is the best it is not always possible. These findings have no basis and have been invalidated by all other tests.
I was unable to breastfeed my children and was pushed to tears when a militant breastfeeder scolded me in the mall once, she did not bother to find out why my son was eating from a bottle, she just assumed that I must be a lazy mother who refused to do the best thing for her child. It's frustrating when half the world seems to be against you and you are a first time mother.

My baby spent an entire year on Dr. Brown bottles and never got sick. That's why we have immune systems. We aren't like animals. Horses die from colic if they eat the wrong thing; humans can eat stuff that isn't necessarily good for them and it's okay.
Whether or not one decides to breast of bottle feed doesn't matter. The best way is whatever way works for mommy and baby.

Isn't that just lovely? That's industry for you--making "better", lighter-weight, improved products to replace the old-time glass bottles. There was nothing wrong with them. Like my great grandmother used to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Seriously, what was wrong with glass bottles, other than they were heavy?

years ago they tried to tell us that drinking milk was bad as well, I put little merit in anything any of those people say. One more reason to breastfeed? Way to try and make those of us who medically CANNOT breastfeed feel like horrible rotten mothers for having to give our kids the next best thing. Not working on me, but shame on you for doing it to others.

I imagine your babys lips will never touch a plastic sippy cup or regular cup either?

It hasn't even been proven yet, doesn't scare me.....Kudo's to you for breastfeeding but there's nothing wrong with bottle feeding,it's been done for years.....Why would it scare you, if you supposedly breastfeed?

ETA***Well it doesn't help for those of us that don't know because bottom line it hasn't been proven and I agree with mosly everyone here......

Well, it appears to have no scientific backing. Just more scare-news put out to get attention with flashy headlines. Nonscientific findings by biased groups don't scare the hell out of me.

I read it, but I don't think much about it. It was tested on ANIMALS not humans, and these bottles have been in use for a very long time.
Whilst it's great that you're breastfeeding, I don't think that it should deter people from using bottles.
