It can be a hard subject to talk about. Your mom might also be freaked out at the question. But you can just sit with her, when she is calm, and just ask away. It was very hard for me when I had to ask about sex, especially because I lived with my grandmother. I understand that it is a touchy subject (no pun intended)

My suggestion is to sit down with your mom and say that you are curious about those subjects. Ask alot of questions and if you aren't able to find the answers you were looking for try going to a public library or researching the internet. Here's a couple of sites to get you started:

Hope this helps!

hi there, i have a 14-year-old son and we've discussed the birds and the bees... he was surprised i knew as much as i do about 'guy stuff' but you have to remember... your mom obviously knows SOMETHING about men, otherwise you wouldn't be here! ;)
I'm sure it will be awkward, especially if you've never discussed it with her before, but believe me, she will love that you feel comfortable enough with her to come to her. don't be shy. if she doesn't know the answer, she'll know where to go (or direct you) to get it. good luck!

Sex is a hard thing to talk about but I would simply ask her.

They do, but probably the best thing for you would be to talk to a male figure.
