memories it brings up, association with a lover or place or time, etc.? I admit that I tear up when I hear Jewel's "Foolish Games," because it reminds me of myself, and my actions towards a partner of four years.....The lyrics about art and Mozart etc., hit home because I am a classical pianist very much into aesthetics....I had many problems communicating in this relationship..To top it off, we went to a Jewel concert in Dallas together six months before the break-up.....
Anyway I'm interested in your stories about songs that make you cry.

Well, it's cliche, but You're Beautiful by James Blunt makes me cry. At camp last summer, I met this great guy. We didn't talk about whether we were attached to anyone at the time (I wasn't, don't know or care if he was) or anything, it was just this sort of summer thing. One time, we had to get dressed up because we were going to the opera, so I go downstairs, and he sees me and is just like "Wow...you're beautiful." A few minutes later, someone else mentions that I looked good (it was a good night for compliments) and he looked at me, and just started singing "You're Beautiful" to me. We lost contact after camp was over (except for when I saw him at a cross country meet) but...I really liked him. So now, "You're Beautiful" makes me cry. Oh well...it does bring back good memories, so its good crying.

Lol I agree, the "adult men do not cry" mentality is unquestionably unattractive. I oftentimes do not cry throughout love songs, yet perchance each and every each and every so oftentimes. i think of oftentimes if a love track makes me cry, it would probable be because of the fact it jogs my memory of something that i'll on no account fairly have. it fairly is especially unhappy songs that make me cry however :)

The song Far Away by Nickelback makes me cry a little, because my bf told me everytime he hears it on the radio he thinks of me because we can't be together right now and he knows I love Nickelback.

other songs make me cry simply because the lyrics hit home or there's such emotion in them

Everytime I hear "my immortal" "whisper" and/ or "lithium" by Evanescence, my eyes begin to sting and before the song ends i find myself crying. it just tears me up inside. i feel like an emotional wreck! the songs are so dark and they kinda remind me of partings.. you see, in my life, people come and people go. nobody ever stays. it's a sad existence, really. and these songs kinda remind me of this fact... (sigh!) and the saddest part is, my sister, who lives with me, has the cd of evanescence that she plays every night! so everynight, for how long i cant remember, i cried and cried. and when she finally left, i started to miss hearing those songs at night! (a big sigh! really!)

"Again" by Janet Jackson:

I heard from a friend today
And she said you were in town
Suddenly the memories came back to me in my
Mind

How can I be strong I've asked myself
Time and time I've said
That I'll never fall in love with you again

A wounded heart you gave
My soul you took away
Good intentions you had many
I know you did

I come from a place that hurts
And God knows how I've cried
And I never want to return
never fall again

Making love to you
Oh it felt so good and
Oh so right

So here we are alone again
Didn't think it'd come to this
And to know it all began
With just a little kiss

I've come too close to happiness
To have it swept away
Don't think I can take the pain
No never fall again

Kinda late in the game and my heart is in
Your hands
Don't you stand there and then
Tell me you love
Me then leave again
Cause I'm falling in love with
You again

Hold me
Hold me
Don't ever let me go
Say it just one time
Say you love me
God knows I do
Love you
Again

Breathe Me by Sia. Gets me every time! It was in the finale of Six Feet Under, where we see the deaths of all the main characters. Turn on the waterworks!

Breathe Me
by Sia
album: Colour The Small One (2004)
Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And the worst part is there's no one else to blame

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me

Ouch, I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found
Yeah, I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me

I think it is Brad Paisley that sings the song "The Man He Didn't Have To Be". That song always brings me near to tears because it reminds me of my departed step-dad who raised when my father was out of my life (by his choice).
