While not all together impossible, it is highly unlikely that water damage from a year ago now cause the laptop to cease from working. Corrosion is progressive. However, for corrosion to occur the element must be constantly exposed to the properties of water. Laptops, like any electrical powered machine, produces a great amount of heat. That heat would have thoroughly dried any water by now. Therefore, the element would not be under the threat of corrosion.
However, if the computer is kept close to any equipment that produces steam or any moisture, then, that constant wet and dry senario can produce corrosion in the system and send it belly-up.

procuring a sparkling computer in basic terms because of fact of water harm is unquestionably no longer needed... If it extremely is in basic terms a single key that would not artwork, you may probable get that fastened or replaced. The water harm won't worsen over the years! as long because of fact the water has thoroughly dried, in spite of harm it extremely is going to do has already got here approximately. In case this happens back... water is in basic terms undesirable for laptops if the computer is became on. in case you unplug the laptop and turn off the potential as quickly because of fact the water is spilled, and don't use it back till it extremely is thoroughly one hundred% dry interior (a blowdryer will help!), then the computer can stay to tell the story unhurt.

Of course it could happen after this long. And its possible it could be from other water damage. Who knows? Just realize this; water and electronics so rarely get along well.

As soon as it's "damage" it has affected the equipment. Sorry, but you've answered your own question
