Why do they have that so-called disclaminer "Professional driver on closed course" on every car commercial nowadays? Who's so-called idea was it? The Advertising Agencies or Lawyers? I think it's going too far.

You're right, it probably is going too far. But in a world where someone can sue McDonald's because their coffee is hot, they're probably just taking precautions. Because you know some idiot is going to buy such and such car and attempt to drive it the way it was driven in the commercial. Then, when they get in an accident, they can sue the car company for millions because they hurt themselves. A little bit of money to put that in the commercial can save them billions of dollars because of stupid people like that.

For the SAME reason we have warning labels on EVERY product in the USA... "warning product may be HOT" on your coffee cup... because lawyers are protecting their clients from probable lawsuits !!

If they didn't, and someone tried something shown in a commercial and got hurt... there would be a lawyer WAITING to get the chance to file that suit.

Sadly, in the United States we actually REWARD people for STUPIDITY and IDIOCY... Spilling hot coffee while DRIVING ? It's worth a MILLION !! Lighting your moustache with your BIC Lighter... was worth 1.3 Million.

Because some people might claim at a driving ticket court apperance that they saw a comercial where the car was demoed doing that very thing so they thought it was okay. You're very fortunate not to be around so many stupid people that you have no reason to know why it exists.
