for fun and keep your mind working. if they didn't have points what fun would that be. at one time i thought they was giving prizes away when you reached a new level. that was like a month ago i read that. they was going to start that. but with or with out prizes it dont bother me any. it still is fun. plus to get a kick out of stuff people ask.

Because at the lower levels (the least points) you can only answer a certain amount of questions per day. As you earn points, you move up levels and get to answer more questions. It's like a reward system.
