Or even cut back? Just curious, because the prices are crazy!!! I can't imagine being addicted and having to spend so much money. That would really suck.

Do you think it stops kids from smoking? When I was young, smokes were 90 cents, we would get a dime back.... then it went up to 99 cents.... so it was easy to sneak a buck out of mom's purse and not get caught or split a pack with a friend.

Yea the cost is atrocious, (11.50 a pack). That was a partial deciding factor for us, but an even bigger one was our kids who were learning a bad lesson from us, and for me it was a beautiful surprise to find that only 3 weeks after quiting my bronchitis was gone (guess it wasn't bronchitis). I know we are saving about 130.00 a week on cigs, but you never actually see that money in hand. For most smokers you will always find the money for cigarettes.

The government knows that smokers are addicted to nicotine and will pay the money to get a pack of cigarettes....why do you think companies who produce cigarettes make a lot of money?.....I have and will never smoke.....unfortunately I am a victim of second-hand smoking
