If the Dr. knows you are ovulating is the next step to check the fallopian tubes? What procedures are taken to check the tubes and if they are blocked what happens next? I hear a lot of women have this problem and just don't know it.

The doctors do what is called a "laperoscopy". Making a small 1-2 inch incision right above the bikini line and entering with a teeny tiny instrument, they are able to observe through a microscopic camera what is happening with your tubes, They perform what is called a "dye test" and they inject the dye. They are able to see where the dye goes and if it is able to go up and into the fallopian tube. Sometimes tubes aren't blocked. Sometimes due to prior infections, etc., instead the cilia is damaged and will not massage the fertilized egg down to the uterus so you end up with a tubal pregnancy.

I'm sure you realize that before a doctor does this surgery, he will do a spin test of the sperm of your partner to check the sperm count and it's ability to penetrate and fertilize an egg. Sometimes it is the man, and not the woman ...

HSG test, and transvaginal ultrasounds.
