Speaking only for myself, I usually don't wear any underwear, even under short skirts or in the summer under tiny sun dresses, simply because I like the way it feels and looks. Underwear is restraining, and as long as you practice exceptional personal hygiene there's really no need for it...again, only from my point of view.
I know that guys, being guys, have undoubtedly gotten a look up my dress or skirt on occasions. If they liked what they saw, then I've brought a little bit of happiness to their day. If not, well that's what they get for looking up a girl's clothes.
I have a great body and like to be naked as much as possible, and for me going commando is the next best thing. Just a personal preference.

Two reasons:
1. Panty lines are tacky. It's hard to find a pair, other than thongs, that don't show through.
2. Comfort.
