Today I had the most sexually explicit pop-up I ever saw and my 13year old son was on the computer when it came up. How do I stop it and who can I report it to? I do not mind adults using this material but I strongly disagree when young children are subjected to these pictures.

Your cookie setting is to low. Click on tools then internet options then privacy and move the slider up to at least medium high . Also install a pop up blocker and regulary do a disk scan and disc clean.

First, do a complete system scan. You apparantly have a malicious tread executing those pop-ups. Next, install, or turn on your pop-up blocker.
Secondly, explicit pop-ups usually occurs only after you spent quite sometime browsing porn sites. They usually want to keep you reminded why you were there in the first place.

Finally, stop visiting porn sites, that is the best deterrent to explicit pop-ups.

I know people are suggesting you get a pop-up blocker, with a child that uses the pc, I would think you already have one? My pc had this problem, we had a worm in our system, (sorry if i'm not using the right terms, I'm not too literate with pc jargon) my friend had to remote access my pc and go into the registry to find the worm. It was thought to be a 'key logger?' that records all your typing to get your passwords etc. My friend eventually found it but it infected his pc too. So if you know anyone that can sort pcs and can understand the registry then see if they can help. My partner ran spybot lots of times and found that it seemed to be in a file that sat in the registry. The problem disappeared straight away after my friend deleted it.

Good luck!

There are many filters offered by the computer maker, the internet company, anti-virus material, etc. However, those don't come up unless someone looked up that stuff and looked at an adult webpage. Then it takes your computer's address (yes every computer has one) and sends you unsolicited pop-ups. I suggest you use any type of pop-up blocker.

First, go to Tools - Options and check the pop up blocker is enabled.
Next, install Firefox web browser with the Adblock plugin, also Spywareblaster. In future only use Internet Explorer for websites that refuse Firefox . Theres also Opera web browser.

http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?q=ad+block&type=A&app=firefox - Adblock Plus
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Finally, legal safe download sites are;
http://www.download.com
http://www.snapfiles.com
http://www.sourceforge.net
Search these for an additional pop up blocker.

Go into your browser settings and find the 'block popups' option. If that doesnt work you might have to install a popup blocker. You can get both free and purchasable versions. Both work but you might have to try a few out to get one you like.
