In "the number 23", don't you think it was unnecessary for Dr. Leary to slit his throat at the P.O.box place?

I mean he was a doctor and should suppsed to be used to these kind of stress. What is the reason that he had to kill himself? At least my therapist friends are.

The special effects and cinematography in that movie were the only reason you might want to give it a try... The visuals were really stylish and interesting.

The plot was just really sadly put together...

I mean, if Jim Carey's character had this whole crazy past - wouldn't someone have stopped him to talk about it at some point... I mean, they don't just consider you "cured" and send you on your way... there are follow up visits with psychiatrists, and there are ongoing family counseling sessions...

And the creepy basement psych ward was just way too over-the top and cliche... when will Hollywood learn their lesson about these kind of scenes... can we say Gothika???

he had no family in the movie so there wasn't anyone there to talk to him about his past. As you can see the only person who knew about what happened was the doctor and he slit his throat in the post office. The book was the only thing that connected Jim Carrey to his past.

Remember, he'd been "infected" with this #23 obsession and, by that point, was mentally unstable. He'd just been told that 23 boxes arrived for him and he'd discovered they were empty except for the styrofoam peanuts. Maybe that's all it took to push him over the edge because, by then, he was halfway over the edge already.

Yea, seriuosly...maybe he was scared. Nevertheless, that was a bit weird.
