is this guy using me and being my friend just because i'm smart and get good grades?
i'm not sure if he is or not, but here are some examples of stuff that he said to me.
one time when we were about to go to the library we could work on something and then he said, "will you sit with me in library...because i dont know what an adverb is."
i didn't know if he really wanted to know or was just saying that because he was too embarassed to flat out ask me...
but then there are other times when im not sure if hes really my friend or just using me as a backup.
like sometimes when i talk to him and he's around other people he ignores me and talks to them.
also when i get annoyed at him he never even cares about my feelings or how i might feel about the way he acted towards me
and also he just sometimes is acting really jerky, sometimes really nice.
im just not sure...
so is he using me as a friend because i'm smart and also using me as a backup friend???

this is easy. if they are willing to hang out with you and talk to you in front of others they can be counted on as friends. if they only talk to you when it suits them they are users and not worth talking to. i say he is a full time jerk for playing with you like that. if you wish to keep helping him thats your decision. but i would refuse to acknowledge his presence.

A TRUE friend no matter what sex wouldn't treat you that way. Friends don't ignore you or make you feel bad or used. Maybe this guy doesn't realize how his actions are making you feel. He might be using you or he just might be a little naive. Have a good conversation with him about how he is making you feel.

He may just be using you. A friend cares about other people's feelings and they usually can tell if there's something wrong or if you're just not feeling happy. I don't think he follows any of those qualities of a friend and he may just be around just for HIS own reasons.

I don't think anyone can answer this question without more information. How old are you? Be cautious of him using you (if he ignores you its a slight possibility he is using you)
just watch for signs =)

he don't seem like a true friend, you need to stop hanging around this guy or else he will hurt your feelings a true friend is a friend no matter what and it seems to me he is only your friend when he needs something.

well i would hate that. either he is using you or he really wants to be your friend becuz he nicely asked you for help, or he likes you and is embarresed u might think hes stupid
hope it works out and he doesnt use you like you think he does

hes an *** if he ignores you around other people that should answer your question try to ignore him see how hard he trys for you attentoin then go from there trust me it works

sounds like to me he is shy alone with you. he wants to know you he also knows he can learn from you. doesnt sound like he has any alterior motives of any kind.
