No, it was not a hoax.
I have seen the documentaries on people who claim it as a hoax; they have come up with very ignorant ideas on photographs, shadows and even the absence of stars in many photograpghs.
The big problem is is that the conspiracy theorist have No expertise in any field they attack. Anyone with any minor education in photograpghy will tell you the camera shutter speed for photographing the moons surface will be much different than photographing the stars as the moons surface is very Bright and the lens shutter speed highly reduced to capture the moons surface, no time for starlight; now think, Nasa is not as dumb as you may think. As a kid in 1969 I can tell you it happened based on what we saw in real time.
I feel bad that anyone would think of such a conspriacy as it shows how ignorant people can be.....
Do conspirac7y theorist think we have no shuttle?
Did two full shuttle crews die in a car accident and Nasa mad eit all up that they died in space to "help" their programe......NO.
Had the Russians felt it was a hoax we would still be hearing them talk about it....no, it was not a hoax and have some belief in some of our best minds...

Dear Yvonne:
No it wasn't a hoax.
However, some people do get a real kick out of casting doubt on the really neat accomplishments of others while sitting at home drinking a beer. It is often said that people reject things that they cannot understand or cannot hope to duplicate in their own lives.
I think that there might be a little bit of that going on.
If you have any doubts at all about the lunar landing, i strongly urge you to travel to the Smithsonian institute in Washing ton, DC, and visit the Space Museum there. They have the actual space suits used in the Moon Walks, the capsule the astronauts used, and all kinds of stuff for you to look at. It will place your mind at ease in a heart beat. There are folks at NASA planning a trip to MARS right now. I can assume that some folks will cast dispersion on that flight also... right?

Think this:
a) Thousands of people witnessed Apollo take off.
b) It is technologically feasible: we have send probes to the Sun (Ulysses), Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, to comets and asteroids and have a big space station. Satellite TV and GPS are for real. You even can see satellites with naked eye.
c) Apollo misions send telemetry data from moon. Russians, French, Bristish even Chinesse were capable of taking real time data from the moon. If there where an oax, Russian could say americans were liying cause they lost moon race and it was very important on cold war age.

No it was not a hoax.
On the subject of stars, there would not be stars on any photos of the astronauts, as they were all taken during the day time. During the day, the surface of the moon is so bright that the stars are insignificant in comparison and would not show up on any photos. If there are stars, then they have been added artificially by NASA to keep people happy.

Seems to me the same people who think it was a hoax are the same ones who do not seem to know what causes the phases of the moon.
Ignorance is the most dangerous weapon on Earth. It is what makes suicide bombers do their thing.
Do some research of your own before you take on ideas that are passed from mouth to mouth with no intelligent foundation.

Please consider the fact that millions would have been spent to send these astronauts and hardware such as the rockets etc. That seemed real enough to me.Conspiracy theories don't have any such hard evidence uno.Now we will be in a race with China back to the Moon.

Nope. They did walk on the moon. Anyone who says they didn't is gay and anti-human-progress and should go live in a cave and eat feces.
