1) 5=1/6(x) [the x is just the # of kids in class] so that means x=30.
2) find how much is for animated. so, (1/6)+(2/5)+(1/10)=2/3 of the class. so, 1/3 want to see animated. and, (3/5)(1/3)=3/15 of the class want to see tarzan. [3/5 of those 1/3 want to see it so u mult. them together] 3/15 simiplified is 1/5.
3)5/5(the whole class)-1/5(who wants to see tarzan)=4/5 don't want to see tarzan.

1. 30, if 5 students chose action and 1 out of every 6th wanted action, then 5/30 wanted it. 5/30=1/6
2. 10, use lcd for the fractions. 1/6=5/30, 2/5=12/30, 1/10=3/30
so the total of those is 20/30. so there are 10 students left to see the animated movie, Tarzan.
3. 20, the students that chose the other 3 =20

the wording you used wasnt great but i think thats the answer youre looking for. Also question 3 is not phrased properly. Just because someone chose action comedy or suspense doesnt mean they dont wanna see tarzan. It just means they would rather see something else. So the answer to question 3 is actually not known. But the question probably means, "how many students did not choose to see Tarzan?" or something to that effect.

Multiply the fractions so they all have a common denominator. 30 would be good. So, 1/6 becomes 5/30, 2/5 becomes 12/30, and 1/10 becomes 3/30. So, animated is 30/30-(5/30+12/30+3/30)=10/30. So, animated = 10/30 of the class.

1. 30 students. Use the 5/30 fraction. 5students/(5students/30total students)=30 total students.
2. you may have typed this one up wrong, as it makes no sense to me
3. can't tell since I don't know answer to 2.
