My son is 7 months old and everytime he drinks his bottle he spits half of it out down his neck !! Why is this ? He is still on the new-born teats as I have never felt the need to change them in the past. Could this be why ?? Does he need a different size now ? Also should he be using a beaker soon ? Thanks guys.

Go to boots or even your supermarket and invest in some varyflow teats. Make sure you get the right ones to fit the bottles you have though.
There are 2 different kinds as far as i know of.
One of them has 3 different markers on them.1 is for slow release of the milk, 2 comes out a bit faster and the next even faster.
The other kind does,nt have the numbers on it has a x shaped split in the teat. I found this one the best as it all depends on how hard the baby sucks as to how much milk comes out. I think i got these from asda.

I think the thing is not just the teat but the age if your baby, my little girl is doing the same thing and I think its just part of learning, she is 6 months old and on stage 3 teat from avent. She is finding it really funny to spit and splutter at the mo so expect your baby is the same. Just keep mopping him up and move onto the next teat.

introduce a beaker if you want to there are no hard an fast rules as long as you are offering your child water.
Re the teats , Avent do a teat with three different lines on you turn the line to one and that is the slowest flow two is medium and three is the fastest flow they only work with the avent bottles but it is well worth it .good luck
